The Consultation

This leads us to consider the nature of delivery of such information to the homeowner. As stated above, at the end of my residency, I will provide the homeowners with a list of problem areas, and suggestions for solutions. In the ideal situation we will conduct a half-day workshop within the home. As you may have already guessed, this process has the potential of opening up the design of one’s home to critical intervention. This may excite you, or scare you to death. I encourage you to be brave! It may be painful in the beginning, as most forms of
radical transformation
are. It is my hope that the discomfort, if any, is minimal and quick, and that the process leads to a heightened understanding of the way a house works. The way a house works on you, the home-owner, and upon your friends. Your guests. The public.
